Our motto:

Drive it, use it. It's a truck.
(why is it our motto? Because Woogeroo said so.)

Meet N' Greet

This is not a truck show. It is never a Truck Show.

It is a Meet N' Greet.

So, what is it that?

Here is how it works. You get into your truck, you drive to the location. You meet other truck people, everyone checks out each other's trucks. Then some of us take some pictures, we trade tips, tell lies, make suggestions on how to fix things - if asked, tell where to find parts, whatever. Somewhere in there we eat a bite of food. Then we repeat the above and we might take a 'cruise' together to another location. We don't always meet at the same place, we like to check out different places, different parts of town.

Drive it, use it. It's a truck.

We drive our trucks. Most of us, if not all of us use our trucks to put stuff in. Our trucks have dents, scratches and rust. Some of them have more rust than others. If your General Motors - Chevy/GMC pickup/suburban/panel truck/carryall truck runs, it has a license plate and is insured, is road worthy and can make it to the meet location... then you are welcome to join us. 1/2 tons, 3/4 tons, 1 tons, bigger... farm trucks, work trucks, beat up trucks, beautiful sweet tricked-out trucks, slammed, lowered, lifted, 4x4, totally bone-stock, barely running or show room floor restored... we like them all.

As long as you drive it. :)

Guys, Gals, folks of all types welcome, as long as it's a GM truck.

Next Meet N' Greet on: June 18th, 2005

Time: 5:00 PM for the meet up

Location: Cruise In - Canton, Georgia - Hosted by Po' Boys of Canton

The 3rd Saturday of the month.

June 18th, 2005

Saturday evening. 5 pm

Location:

Riverstone Shopping center, 1400 block of Riverstone Parkway.

1451 Riverstone Pkwy
Canton, GA 30114

Mapquest shows the road as 'old ball ground hwy'

Yahoo Maps shows it as ''old ball ground hwy' as well.

I think Riverstone Pkwy is a road on the property of the Riverstone shopping center - which is off of 'old ball ground hwy', the shopping center is a pretty big place. It has a huge parking lot.

Directions:

Go 575 north to exit 20, take left, and the car show is in the shopping center on the right (behind the Red Lobster).

This is a pretty big cruise in, all kinds of vehicles. You just show up and park. Walk around and talk to folks. There are several restaurants around as it is a big shopping center.. very big parking lots, lots of cars. On a nice night with good weather 300 cars is not unusual from folks I have talked to. I went once, but it was overcast and rained... and there were prolly upwards of 200 cars there that night - another guy I was with(tkdtkd) who had been there on other nights said that was a light turnout.

The second meet took place at The Varsity at Town Center Mall on Barrett Parkway on August 21st, 2004. We had 8 trucks show up and they brought their owners as well, several mid 60's trucks, a late '60s panel, a early 70ish topless Blazer 4x4, a '75 4x4 and a '87 model pickup.  We like all kinds... I don't know where the 1950's & '40s GM truck people were at... sleeping late or something I 'spose. We congregated from 11:15 am or so until 3:20-3:30ish pm.

The first meet took place at the California Pizza Kitchen in Roswell, Georgia near Perimeter Mall on July 10th, 2004. Six guys showed up with their trucks(and one wife), and they all came from the ranks of the following forums:

The Stovebolt Page - The oldest and most complete pre-'73 GM truck on-line resource -- since 1995 - Forums - Tech Articles - free classifieds(Swap meet)

Chevy Talk - Online forums for the Chevrolet Enthusiast - Anything and Everything Chevrolet

 The 1967 - 1972 Chevy/GMC Trucks Resource Page for 1947-1998 trucks
